CERTON is dedicated to providing the most efficient, high quality solutions to our customers for safety critical systems certified under the guidelines of DO-178B Software and DO-254 Hardware Certifications. CERTON was founded to provide expert DO-178B and DO-254 Validation and Verification (V&V) Services under a business model that promotes efficiency and accountability. Existing supplier’s business models were all based on Time & Material contracts designed to maximize supplier profit by putting as many people on a project for as long as possible without the need to produce anything of value for the customer. This business model is in jeopardy for several reasons including:

 

  • The customer's trend to utilize "off-shore" suppliers at much cheaper hourly rates
  • The fact that it lends itself to inefficiency and lack of innovation
  • Suppliers are not on the hook to deliver certifiable work product in order to be compensated for their effort.

The CERTON business model is designed to accurately scope, properly plan, effectively manage, and successfully execute DO-178B Software and DO-254 Hardware Certification projects while controlling cost and schedule under Firm-Fixed Price contracts. CERTON has developed products, tools, and processes that support this unique business model through automation of time consuming verification and validation activities, standardized test file templates, and test environments that have been utilized on several successful Hardware/Software certification projects.

 

CERTON maintains complete Quality Management, Configuration Management, and Problem Reporting Systems that provide the foundation for our daily operation, continual improvement, and Hardware/Software development life cycle activities for all projects, including both internal and external.
