Certified-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Safety-Critical Hardware
CertBOARD™ is a modular, DO-254 certifiable approach to a COTS Common Avionics Platform on which you can build your specialized, certifiable application. Using a COTS DO-254 board greatly lowers costs for avionics equipment manufactures by reducing engineering time required to achieve certification. OEM´s can now refocus back to their specialty, whether it be communications, navigation, control systems, etc.
Modularity & Customizing
CertBOARD is customized due to its modular design. By picking and choosing modules, you can eliminate the cost of unneeded functionality. For example, if your avionics application does not need RF, you can simply remove the RF module from the configuration.
Redundancy & Fail Protection
The control module provides automatic fail over prevention by using 5 dissimilar processing cores with redundant voting and monitoring to provide assured safety.
The IO Module provides universal pin I/O that is configurable by simple firmware upload. This allows for immediate reconfiguration when ICDs or System Requirements change with hardware modifications. All pins can operate as analog, digital, serial, or ARINC/CAN bidirectional communication pins.
The application module supports full portioning into separate criticality levels due to the advanced processing power of the ARM architecture with MMU support. By using CertOS™ in a software portioned environment, a Level A Flight Control application can run along side a Level D maintenance application without risk of the Level D application’s failure faulting the adjacent Level A application.
