CERTON receives recognition for supporting the Harris Student Design Center at the Florida Institute of Technology.
Melbourne, FL October 10, 2016 – CERTON currently employs talented interns and graduates from Florida Tech and continues to support the development of the next generation of engineers through generous support of the newly constructed Harris Student Design Center. The facility is located on the South side of the Florida Tech campus and boasts welding stations, a 2.5-ton crane, acid etching station, electronics/project team rooms, an “Ideation Room” for brainstorming, and more.
The Harris Student Design Center was created to provide future engineers with a practical application environment for innovation. Some of CERTON’s current employees have senior design capstone projects on display at the facility and their experience learned at Florida Tech applies directly to the systems, software, and electronic hardware engineering skills used every day at CERTON. “The Harris Student Design Center provided a convenient workspace at F.I.T. where I gained hands on experience with tools and applications that carried over directly to my engineering responsibilities at CERTON,” said Asim Conrad, Software Engineer at CERTON.
